About the Festival:

Established as the biggest event in the UK for celebrating World Book Day, the Merthyr Tydfil Children’s Literature Festival brings together renowned authors, poets, and thousands of eager young minds for a day of literary celebration. Hosted by the Stephens and George Centenary Charitable Trust, this year marks our 8th festival, promising an even more spectacular experience than ever before.

Prepare to be thrilled as over 5000 children from across Merthyr Tydfil and beyond descend upon our vibrant town to partake in literary activities. From captivating author readings to interactive workshops, live performances, and even fairground rides, there's something for everyone to enjoy. This year, our theme is "Wales is great, we can achieve," celebrating the rich cultural heritage and inspiring achievements of our nation.
